We started with one milk crate.
In 2011, Reuben and Tess Okafor were selling records out of a single crate at the Burnside flea market — mostly soul 45s and whatever jazz they couldn't bear to keep at home. People kept coming back, so they found a storefront with a leaky roof and a good echo.
Fourteen years later the roof is fixed, the bins are deep, and the back wall still holds that original crate. We grade honestly, we pay fairly when you sell to us, and we believe a record means more when you've heard it spin before you take it home.
No algorithm picks what goes on the shelf. Just two people, a lot of coffee, and a turntable that's been running since opening day.
